If Columbus really wants yakopov, they will NOT trade their first rounder 2012, most likely they would want to draft both yakopov and galchenyuk. So most likely they will have to give up ryan johansen+ for yako. Makes the most sense in my books. Or if edmonton wants D they could make a bigger trade or look at defenders like john moore or JJ. |

On Suter - Minn and Detroit have been talked about a lot, but are you saying Colorado or Chicago is also in the mix? |

If Edmonton has to draft a d-man and CBJ has to draft a forward why would they have to flip picks? The logic behind this rumour makes absolutely no sense. |

because Edmonton KNOWS the Jackets want Yakupov and they will hold them up because they can. The Oilers will get offers from other teams for that pick as well. |

No - FLYERSROCK!
Edmonton seems more desperate to trade down and still get Murray. They know there's a lot of gaps in their organization that Yakupov won't address. Some feel drafting Murray with the 1st will be a waste, but why would Columbus give up Johansen and their 1st, when they can just be patient and be happy with whatever falls to them at 2nd. |

yeah but why would columbus want to draft yakopov if they can be smart about it and also draft galcehnyuk while giving up ryan johansen+ for the 1st overall pick.... |

they wont, i can see something along the lines of john moore + ryan johansen for yakopov and something else but not a big payment on edmontons part |

Suter is interested in Colorado? Is Colorado interested too? Or as I should say, interested to the point of actually forking up the cash to sign him? |

you have to realize the PR spin on this in Columbus is outweighing the logic to a point. A team with an established base/history of successes could do what you are saying. The Jackets are trading away Nash remember. They need star power. Nail gives them what they need..."a story" |

I would be shocked if there was a scenario in which Columbus acquired the 1st overall and got to keep their pick. If Edmonton is trading away a 1st overall pick, they're getting something pretty proven. |

Maybe we see a 3-way deal.
Tampa Bay gets:
Roberto Luongo
Tyler Bozak
Toronto gets:
Vincent Lecavalier
Mason Raymond
Vancouver gets:
James Reimer
Ryan Malone
I'm not sure how the trade would work but it would kind of fit that Lecavalier lands in Toronto when they need a center, Canucks get Malone and another young goalie and Tampa Bay gets a younger center and a goaltender.
Well that's my piece, feel free to rip me apart |

Just like RNH, Hall, and Eberle is the stars of EDM.
I can't see CBJ giving up a pot of gold to EDM to trade up one spot. Yes, loosing Nash as the face of the franchise is killer and CBJ maybe are seeking a new face. Mason rookie season was stellar, but now fallen to the pits and no longer a building block. CBJ may also see Galchenyuk does not have enough stardom power to be the face, so this is where Yakupov will take the glamour of the hockey world in CBJ to the next level. If CBJ offered John Moore+2nd pick for EDM 1st round, that maybe ok, all depends who EDM plans to select. |

And this is the exact reason we need to get rid of Howson as EDM is the only team he can truly deal with and it's going to screw us in the long run. Would much rather see Howson acquire two top 6 picks and draft Galchenyuk and Dumba. Sometimes I wonder if Howson wants to tank again next season in hopes of winning the MacKinnon sweepstakes, only to lose the lottery two years back-back. |

How about everybunny KNOWS Edmonton needs D, and Jackets will take Reinhart with the 2nd overall and hold them up because they can too. Jackets need talent in every position, Yakupov, Reinhart, Murray or Galchenyuk doesnt matter. |

Thats kind of a weak deal, if im the edmonton gm, your thinking, if columbus wants yakopov and they want to keep their 1st rounder to draft galchenyuk as well, john moore+2nd rounder is kind of a weak offer. I would try to pry both john moore and ryan johansen if anything even if edmonton had to offer a bit more to get them. |
